I love these Halloween Shrine Kits, they're just too cute! Sure would love to try my hand at making one of these.
ReplyDeleteNow for a Halloween memory. Hummmm, let's see. Well I guess I was an unusual child because I never really cared for eating much candy. My fun was getting to wear a cool costume (handmade by my talented Mom) and going door to door to see people's reactions to it.
I kept a few sweet treats for myself and brought all the rest to school the next day, and I handed it out to the kids who couldn't afford a costume to go trick or treating the night before. I sure was a popular girl the day after Halloween!
Love your shrines! Saw them at Create. I "Liked" you on FB.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite memory on Halloween are the costumes on the little ones and how they get scared when approaching people's houses (who have really gone and done them up in style). Does that make me a bad mommy? My kids and I love Halloween and the whole dress-up thing.
The kids and I would love the Halloween shrines.
Belinda
I'm a fan on Facebook! One of my favorite Halloween memories is when I dressed my then 2 year old daughter up as a bunny, complete with bunny make-up. She was in a foul mood after an hour and began wiping her makeup off, which actually made her more adorable! -Shelly Kane
ReplyDeleteOops sorry my favourite memory is trick n treat with my children when they were babies, I dressed them up, but really it was an excuse for me to gather lots of sweetie treats for myself as my children were too small to know any different but I was too old to go on my own LOL . Tracy x
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Halloween memory is when it was our turn to hold my daughter's book club here, we had picked a halloween book and then decorated the house like the one in the book was decorated, even had the Bride of Frankenstein on TV like it was in the book.
ReplyDeleteMy mom dressed me up as a pilgram and my sister was a pumpkin, so in the parade I wore a sign that said " mmmm, pilgrims love pumpkin pie" and the sign on my sister said " but I don't wanna be a pumpkin pie" ! Lol! Awesome giveaway and I'm a fan on facebook!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Halloween memory is dressing up to hang out goodies while my kids went with their dad to trick or treat. I always loved the expressions of the parents when a costumed adult answered the door to their kids.
ReplyDeleteI grew up in the north where by Halloween it was getting cold, especially at night. So no matter how cute or scary or stupid your costume was, it was always covered by a coat or jacket. What fun was that?
ReplyDeleteEnter me to win! I am also a fan!
Wonderful giveaway! My favorite Halloween was when I was about 12, I went out with a bunch of friends and we did all kinds of naughty things which included shaving cream, tp and balloons....
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Halloween memory is when my brother wore my brownie uniform to go trick or treating!
ReplyDeleteI'll like you on facebook (if I haven't already)!

I Love what Jingle did with the shrine kit! Please drop my name in the hat and yes I'm a BIG fan on facebook!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Halloween memory was as a teenager I dressed like a vampire,my BF as a witch & We decorated the front yard, tombstones and ghosts and I used my moms old cedar chest and laid in it with the candy bowl in my lap. scared lots of little ones that year. all in fun! back then most people didn't do much for Halloween so it was a real treat!
Would love to win this. My nightmare halloween is I was dressed as a carrot and my little sister was a rabbit. I think I quit treak or treating that year! LOL
ReplyDeleteThose Halloween Shrine Kits are too fun!! I love making Halloween decorations. I'm also a fan on FB since recently being introduced to your site.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Halloween memory was growing up w/3 brothers. After we were done trick or treating, we would all gather and pour out our stash of goodies. Then the trading began!! As some liked certain treats and disliked others we would swap. I usually made out pretty good cuz I loved licorice and things with nuts and they didn't!
So amazingly (is that a word) creative.
ReplyDeleteWhen my children were little our neighbors got together and had an old fashioned hay ride. One of the neighbors had a tractor and trailer. We would all go house to house on the back of the trailer. It was fun and definately different.
I will always have fond memories of dressing up as Pee-Wee Herman for Halloween in 5th grade! My mom still has the grey suit & bow tie :)
ReplyDeleteforgot to say I'm a Facebook fan, too :) Jessica Hood Dougherty
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, that shrine is amazing. I would love to play with one of those kits :)
ReplyDeleteOne of my halloween memories is the year I was a scarecrow, I think I was about 8 or 9. I didn't need to wear a coat over my costume because I had so my newspaper stuffing I was plenty warm. It was alwasy a bummer to wear a coat and no one could admire your costume.
I'm already a FB fan.
Would love to win one of the kits!
ReplyDeleteEvery year watching my daughter dress up is a new favorite memory!
Teaching Kindergarten children about costumes and trick or treat and decorating the classroom for them. Also, bringing in hats and costumes to play in for that month. I love hearing the giggles and watching the smiles.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Halloween memory was way back in 1961, when I was almost 8. We lived in Navy housing in Honolulu, but we were coming back to the States on Nov. 1st. We had already moved out of our house & into a motel, so there wasn't going to be any trick or treating. My brother & I were devastated! So, my parents let us stay overnight with friends who lived a few blocks away & go trick or treating. I was 7, my brother was about 6 & Eddie, the friend, was 5. They let us go out alone & we stayed out a long time & got lost. We stopped at a house & had to ask how to get home. Luckily it was only a few blocks away. It freaks me out now, to think that we were alone, at night, talking to strangers that way. They didn't take us home either, they just explained where to go. For me it was the scariest Halloween, but one of the best!
ReplyDeleteIn our house we didn't buy costumes, we used whatever was around. My favorite Halloween memories are from simple costumes and trick-or-treating with friends on the block. As an adult I dressed up as a "tacky tourist" (we get lots of tourists where I live) with clothes and accessories from a thrift shop, then went to a party. My outfit was a big hit and all the more fun for me because I hardly spent any money on it at all.
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love the halloween shrine kit! One of my best Halloween memories is from when I was 6 and my sister was 4. We had matching Zorro costumes! Hats, capes and masks! Mom still has a black and white picture of us dressed in them.
ReplyDeleteThis is great! I would love to try my hand at one of these shrines...
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite memories was when I was in high school, a friend and I cut up one of those old wool roving wigs (used to be witches wigs) and glued them to our faces with spirit gum. We went as very cool were wolves... No one told us that the spirit gum needed special remover to get the stuff off! LOL!
We were miserable, trying to get the itchy wool off our faces and it was quite painful getting the gum off... sigh. We won the Halloween contest tho! ; )

This is super cute! I'm glad you guys are already getting into the Halloween mood.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Halloween memory is when I went to Knott's Scary Farm with two of my close friends in high school. It was terrifying, but fun nonetheless. I got chased around by two of the costumed workers there. It was great since I hadn't done anything special for Halloween for a while before then.
That Halloween shrine kit is just fabulous!
ReplyDeleteMy happiest memory is making pirate costumes (and my sewing skills are deplorable!) for my 3 little boys. They lined up, with their eyepatches, beards (falling off, of course!) and aluminum swords! Then they went stomping and swashbuckling to my neighbor,Trudie, is is very tall and gave her the biggest....hug! It was great!
Tricking or treating for my sister who was home with a newly broken arm. Half the houses thought I was joking and gave me extra candy just for the effort!
