I bought this gal this week! I wanted her to display some of my soldered charms at the upcoming art/craft shows. And of course, she must have a name! So I thought it would be fun to have a contest. I must admit, a few times I walked into the room where she was and JUMPED. I thought it was a person standing there...LOL! Read below for the contest.....
I need some help naming my mannequin so I'm having a contest! Simply post your best name on this post, and on Saturday May 30th, I'll pick my favorite. The winner will recieve any FIVE digital collage sheets from my store! I may pick a few runner-ups too :).
The contest is now CLOSED! Thank you for all the wonderful entries!
she could always be called Jewel. jennifer queendragonfairie at yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteI think you should call her Talula Belle! She looks like a southern lady to me.
ReplyDeleteHmmm Kristin,
ReplyDeleteNaming your first real live mana...er modeling assistant ;) is always such an important occasion. It sets the tone for all those who will follow her :) The way she carries herself and dresses she gives the impression she is a bit shy and innocent. A girl on her own for the first time. But then one notices she has real back bone. and appearances can always be deceiving!!
I'm almost sure I heard her tell the other Mana...modeling assistants that her name was Madeline... with the "I" pronounced with a long "I" sound of a willful independent woman. No soft "i" mammby pammby shrinking violet thank you very much!!
Oh do have fun naming her!! Before long you will wonder how you ever got along without her!! :)
Pattie ;)
Mazatlan Mx.
~ Moira ~
ReplyDeleteIn Celtic The meaning of the name Moira is: Exceptional ...like your creations & your boutique! :)
Funny, I just bought a gal & I, too have to find a name! :)
Mine is smaller & new so I will have to stain her up vintage style & find a crown finial to dress her up! FUN! :)
L~
I don't know why but "Retro Sally" came to mind. I think maybe the colors. You could go with "Minney Mee" ha ha.

How about ZELDA? I just love all the old fashioned names!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great model for your jewelry!! I think she is a Bella Chica.
ReplyDeleteRobin ~ ltlblonde@sbcglobal.net
What a fun contest naming your gal. I think her name should be Amalia since you are wanting her to "work" displaying your charms. It's what I believe to be the Latinized form of the Germanic name Amal, a short form of names beginning with the element amal meaning "work". Amalia, for work.
ReplyDeleteHmm, I thought the name was Finnish rather than Latin.

ReplyDeleteShe should be called Elise because she just looks like my grand-aunt Elise... This is pronounced the German way, a bit like "A-Lees-a"
ReplyDeleteTake care, you have a wonderful site.
Since she's wearing vintage clothes, I looked for a name that was popular back in the 1920s. I like Jacqueline for her. (The name had popped into my head before I checked the list, too.)

I keep thinking of Maude - I can't get it out of my mind - Maude the Mannequin. There's more to Maude than meets the eye.
ReplyDeleteHeady or Hedie. Because she's "Head & shoulders above the rest" or because she dosn't have one! Bawhaaaaaa!!!
ReplyDeleteMy other thought (if I get 2) is "Charmaine" because of the beautiful Charms you will create & display on her.
Matilda. Definitely Matilda. AND you could waltz with her too. >;')

I think her name should be "Lenore". She's sophisticated yet sassy. She's bold, yet charming. And she's a beauty to show off your fabulous creations.
ReplyDeleteShe has on her the prettiest vintage colors...They remind me of Mist May so that is what I would choose to call her.All the names are lovely it will be hard to choose. hugs,Ina
ReplyDeleteI think you should name her Gigi. I have no idea why, it's just the name that popped up when I looked at her! She's fabulous - cool way to showcase your jewelry.
