Halloween party!

My parents had a haunted barn Halloween party last night, and I thought I would share a few pictures:

Something A Little Different

Last night I worked on a new piece and wanted to incorporate more painting. this is what I came up with. She's 9 x 12 on box canvas with painted/stamped sides too. Please let me know what you think!

*These ACEOs/ATCs were done using a cabinet card style. I used a reprint of a vintage cabinet card, and instead of cutting out the image, I glued the whole photo on my playing card and painted/collaged around the image! I have 4 listed - I may not do this again for a while so get em' now!*

I Must Have Been A Good Girl :)!

Today, I recieved ANOTHER FABULOUS gift in the mail from my friend Kelly Seaton who is an artist in California! The detail is just amazing on the necklace, and all those jump rings on the earrings definitely took a lot of talent!!! The back of the necklace is also fab! THANK YOU SO MUCH KELLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE IT!

I Love Halloween

I just created this piece last night. The support was from an old wall hanging I had bought from Hobby Lobby about 10 years ago. It had Mona Lisa on it, but she started to peel off. So I tore her off completely and turned her into this! I'm glad I didn't throw it away. This piece will be sold where I have my gallery space downtown. Thank you to my friend Bianca (link to the left) for giving me the old woman cabinet photo to scan.

A Look to the Past...

Hey everyone! A few people have asked me lately when I started doing mixed media work, and if I've ever done anything else. So I thought I would answer here. I started doing mixed media/collage February of 2005, when I sold my first ACEO on EBay for 2.99 (I won't post that here..lol). When I first started doing art "for real" it was in H.S. and I LOVED black and white drawing. Here is one of my 9x12 pieces from 1998:

Around 2000, I started playing around more with painting:

And finally in 2005 I started doing mixed media and I don't think I'll ever look back!:

It's so funny how much we evolve and change! I'd love to know what YOU did before mixed media?????
